Metsoak AK3932 - Alkaline Blackening Salts

Metsoak AK3932 is a powdered alkaline formulation designed to produce a black iron oxide conversion coating on ferrous metals. The process works by reacting iron on the surface of the ferrous component with the oxidising salts present in Metsoak AK3932 to produce a high-quality black iron oxide (magnetite) layer that is chemically bonded to the ferrous component. The resultant coating is a visually attractive shiny black finish and that also provides enhanced corrosion and wear resistance.

Metsoak AK3932 is a chemical conversion process and typically produces a coating 1 micrometre in thickness. As the process is a chemical reaction and not a layered-on finish there are no changes to the dimensional tolerances of components making it suitable for use on components that have been precision machined.

Metsoak AK3932 is typically used as part of a multi-stage process and has been specially designed to be used alongside the Orapi Applied range of metal treatment products. By using the appropriate combination of products, a consistent high-quality finish can be achieved every time.
